We have been busy working this year on a variety of projects. since we are approaching Thanksgiving we have a special project to work on for the coming Feast. I am posting it here so you can follow our progress from home:
Step 1: Learning about the Pilgrim’s journey to the new world.
Click here to learn about the problems the Pilgrims’ faced to get to the new world.
Step 2: Learning the ways of the Native Americans.
Click here to learn how the Native Americans helped the pilgrims learn how to grow food and to help them survive.
Step 3: The first Thanksgiving.
Click here to learn all about the friendships that were made between the Native Americans and the pilgrims and to learn what each were thankful for. This is the story of the first Thanksgiving!
Step 4: Making the cornucopia.
Click here to print out a coloring page of a cornucopia. A cornucopia is a horn shaped basket that overflows with fruit, corn, and other foods used as decoration for Thanksgiving. Instead of your cornucopia, being filled with food, however, yours is going to be filled with things that you are thankful for. You are to print out your cornucopia and to color it anyway you would like.
Step 5: Being thankful
Click here to print out a coloring page of a leaf. You are to print out 5 of these leaves and color them the way you would like. On each of these leaves you are to write down one thing that you are thankful for.
Step 6: Putting the cornucopia together.
You are now going to make your final project. Cut out your five leaves and glue them onto your cornucopia. This is now your final project of your cornucopia of thankfulness.
